Woke up at 9, had tons of hot chocolate and bread! Got ready then went out to explore the city. Did some souvenir shopping and headed to Vieux Nice, really pretty with narrow streets and we stumbled upon an outdoor market with tons of really fresh produce, herbs, fish, flowers, and some crafts. Started POURING but we browsed around for a while. We climbed up an old château which had ancient roman ruins but was rebuilt by some French king a few centuries ago. It was so cool with amazing views of the coast, the port, and the city. There were lots of trees and some mini waterfalls from the other torrential downpours we encountered. Took a bunch of pictures and literally swam down from all the rain. Walked all along the coast and got free Carnaval posters from the tourism office. Bought cheap baguette and made lunch. There was another woman staying with us from London and she said they got 10” of snow there! Crazy, and it makes the rain seem not so bad. Went to go shopping but every store (except one with a creepy Dutch guy who wanted us to come party with him) was closed. It’s so much different than Granada, I couldn’t believe nothing was open! So we walked around in the monsoon until we found a cute little place to eat. Took a shower then hit the sack.
