We had our big hotel breakfast again but this time we were specifically warned by the rude person working it that we couldn’t take food out and she was hawking us the whole time. But don’t worry, we still managed to get 3 apples, 2 sandwiches and an orange anyway! Tried to call hostels in France but they wouldn’t go through and everyone that answered wouldn’t give us any information. Left for the Royal Palace and it was freezing cold and raining. The tour was awesome though, we had CIA headpieces on and our guide wore a mic so we could all hear perfectly. The inside was so cool – table feeds 145 people, there are 2800 unique rooms on 7 floors, and the throne room was the best of all. The king and queen don’t live there for security and personal reasons but they do go often. Picked up our bags from the hotel because the rest of the group was headed back to Granada so we stayed and watched tv in the lounge and that same worker kept coming back and glaring at us. Went to check into our hostel – so cute and really clean. 6 beds (but we were the only ones), bright walls, free internet, and our own bathroom. Napped for about 2 hours then had dinner at this adorable Italian place called Gino’s. The waiters were rude and kept laughing at us but the food was good so we didn’t really care. Walked around to try and find the San Isidro chapel which is supposed to be really cool but I was completely unimpressed; not even sure it was the right one it was that boring. Stopped by a Häagen Dazs place that looked like a museum on the way back and dropped €12.50 between the two of us! It was delicious and we didn’t even feel bad since we’d been saving so much money and eating so many sandwiches. Came back and showered but I was too cheap to rent a towel for €1.50 so I just drip dried. We’ve learned where to skimp and where to splurge that’s for sure! Read magazines then went to bed.
